Nigeria’s Minister of Works, the cantankerous Dave Umaha, is negatively in the news again. First, it was about his cantankerous and senseless response to Nigerians who demand accountability for his overbloated, padded road construction budgets, which amounts to broad day robbery of public funds with impunity.
Now, a Nigerian has exposed him again for alleged use of inferior and substandard materials for his road construction. The accuser who is said to be an engineer has video samples of sections of Umahi’s road under construction, showing inferior materials.
A sad fact about Nigeria is that corrupt Nigerians in government give Nigerians roads that get damaged by the first rain that falls right after construction. Even more sad, is the FACT, repeat, FACT that the corrupt rulers who build those roads that do not last up to one year do it with over a hundred times more funds than what it takes to build good quality roads in any other country of the world. Putting it bluntly, it is a FACT that corrupt Nigerian rulers REGULARLY, ALWAYS, NO EXCEPTION, pad the budgets of everything they do, including road construction, whereby they steal Nigeria blind.
ILLUSTRATION: If Nigerian rulers spend just one million naira to build a road, they cost it at one hundred million naira, thereby stealing ninety-nine million naira.
Now, here’s my bottomline in the recent stories about Minister Dave Umahi, relative to my illustration above. First, Dave Umahi chose to fight several Nigerians who literally accused him of budget-padding in his road constructions because he has no reasonable defense. Now, he has been exposed to be using substandard and inferior materials for the roads. So, I dare Dave Umahi to sue me in court for my POSTULATION that he is APPARENTLY another Nigerian crook giving us substandard roads for bloated costs. Further POSTULATION is that Dave Umahi, like others before him, is APPARENTLY stealing Nigeria blind as Works Minister, meeeeeeeen!!!
