THE DRAMA CONTINUES:
The CEO Episode Five
Ugo had spent all his money plus the ones he borrowed from people. There’s no penny in his bank account. But the worse pain he was feeling was the fact that he can no longer see Junior his son. He mourned the boy for so many days. He refused to eat for so many days and also he did not go to work. Usually, he locked himself indoors and cried for many days. He blamed himself for what happened to Junior.
His wife, Ebere was enjoying the whole thing. After making a lot of money from her husband, she grew wings. She stopped cooking at home. Even when her children want to eat, she will go to the restaurant and buy expensive food. Each time she is going to work, she will drop some money with her husband to use and buy food for the children when they are back from school. Ugo usually has nothing to say, because he was no longer earning money and his wife has become the breadwinner.
One Monday morning, Ebere gave Ugo some bundles of money which looked familiar. The bundles of money contained N500,000. He was supposed to use it to pay their children’s school fees.
“This money looks familiar. It looks like the one I gave to the kidnappers.” Ugo said in his heart after he collected the money from his wife. After his wife left home for work, Ugo went to his room to take a proper look at the money.
He remembered that when he was arranging the money to give to kidnappers, he had used a blue pen to mark a lot of them. He could not mark all the money, but he marked several bundles that made up the N15 million he paid for his wife to be released.
When his wife gave him the N500,000, he saw the marks he made on the money before going to drop it for the kidnappers. He was shocked.
“This is the money I gave to kidnappers. How come it’s with my wife? All of them carry the mark I made on the money. This is very strange and worrisome.” Ugo said as he was examining the bundles of money. He just randomly applied the wisdom of marking the money before giving it to kidnappers. Now, it appears to give him a clue to where his problems are coming from.
“I have to do further investigation to find out what happened. Does it mean my wife got a share of the money I paid to kidnappers? Or does it mean she was behind the kidnapping? Well, I’m about to find out.” Ugo said to himself. Instead of confronting his wife immediately, he kept his discovery to himself.
From that day, he discovered that most of money his wife gave to him had the blue marks. He kept the money with the blue marks as evidence.
One day, Ugo went to the market and bought a sound recorder that has a rechargeable battery. When he came home that evening, he charged the battery of the recorder to 100%. The next morning when his wife was going to work, he secretly put the sound recorder in one hidden space in her handbag. His wife was not aware of what he did, so she carried her bag to work.
Later in the evening when his wife came back from work, he secretly brought out the sound recorder. He saw that it recorded everything his wife and the CEO said while at work. He went to his room to listen to to it.
When he played the recordings in the device, he was shocked to hear the next thing his wife was planning with the CEO.
His wife and the CEO were planning to kidnap Ugo’s second son, Ekele.
“The money I made from the previous kidnapping is going down. I don’t want to go broke. I want to make more money from my husband. Do you think he can raise more money if we kidnap my second son?” Ebere asked the CEO in the recording. Ugo was shocked to hear what his wife said.
“So, she was the one who kidnapped Junior? What? I married a monster. She was even the one who took the money I paid. Let me continue to listen.” Ugo said as he played the recording again.
“He will look for the money. So far as it involves the lives of his children, he will look for the money and pay. Just try it and you will see that your husband will bring millions within a few hours.” The CEO tells Ebere in the recording. Ugo was still listening and he was so shocked.
“I will continue to kidnap my children each time I go broke. This is a new business strategy for me. In fact, this evening, I’m going to kidnap Ekele, my second son. I will tell my husband I’m taking him to the salon to barb his hair. Can you help me come and pick him? When you pick him, I will now go home and tell my husband that the boy has been kidnapped.” Ebere said in the recording.
“Of course. Anything you want my love. Meanwhile, I want to eat honey. Come inside my office let’s do it.” The CEO said. Even their bedroom action was recorded by the device. Ugo heard as his wife was making bedroom sound when she was eating honey with the CEO.
“I now have all the evidence I want. So, I was not wrong after all. I was right when I suspected that Junior was not my son. I was right. This is what my wife has been doing with the CEO. Well, I will just keep calm and gather more evidence against them.” Ugo said. He went back and secretly put the small sound recorder in his wife’s purse.
Just as Ebere said in the recording that Ugo just listened to, she soon carried Ekele, their second son and said she was taking him to the salon. It was 6pm.
“We will be back soon. I want him to look good for his birthday. Let me take him to saloon.” Ebere said to her husband as she leaves the compound with the kid. Ugo just laughed at her.
“She doesn’t know that I know everything that is going on. She doesn’t even know that the purse she is holding has a recording device. You are digging your own grave and you will go to jail when I finish gathering my evidence.” Ugo said in his heart.
When Ebere got to the roadside, she brought out her phone and called the CEO.
“My love, it’s time. Come to the expressway close to my house and carry the boy. We are waiting.” Ebere said.
“On my way.” The CEO responded.
