I am Harry Agina, bringing you the commonly misused terms called Ante-Meridiem (AM) and Post-Meridiem (PM). I want to talk about the fact that a lot of people are tautological in the use of “Ante-meridiem” and “Post-meridiem,” otherwise know commonly as AM and PM. You know, for the fact that Afro-Scope is an AfroCentric project, it is easy to think that everything we do is specifically about Africa and the Africans alone. This is majorly true, but not altogether so.
My series on Commonly Misused words, phrases, terms, tenses, and idiomatic expressions is one of the deviations from the AfroCentric concept of the Afro-Scope project. Why? Because the errors that I address in this series are not necessarily African. In fact, the English people who own the English language do make the errors, too, in some cases even more son than Africans. And, of course, if the English people make such errors, then it goes without saying that other peoples of the world who speak English make the errors, too.
