SUB-TOPIC 1: MY GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT WITH REUBEN ABATI OF ARISE NEWS TV FOR SUPPORTING WIKE’S VIOLATION OF “CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST” LAW OF NIGERIA, WHICH IS ALSO A COMMON GLOBAL LAW
SUB-TOPIC 2: I AM SO PROUD OF RUFAI OSENI, AKA “RUFFY ON FIRE” OF THE SAME ARISE NEWS TV, WHO REMINDED ABATI OF THE CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST LAW, YET ABATI WHO IS A LAWYER SEEMS VERY IGNORANT OF THIS LAW, OR HE CHOSE TO HYPOCRITICALLY, DISGRACEFULLY SUPPORT WIKE’S ALLEGED RECKLESS LAWLESSNESS

I am Harry Agina, and I am here to address one of the shameful criminal reasons why Nigeria is in a total mess today. I speak of reckless and common violation of “CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST” LAW of Nigeria by self-serving rulers.
The primary subject of this commentary is the allegation of reckless “CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST” law violations against the current minister of Nigeria Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. It has been alleged in trending news by several Nigerians that Wike has been allocating massive pieces of land in the FCT Abuja Nigeria to several members of his family and friends. However, I am not a news reporter, no sir, no ma’am! So, I am not addressing this as news. Instead, I am a Socio-Political Critic with analytical interest in some key elements of the trending news. I am not going into details about Wike’s act because it is not my focus today. Here is my CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST focus:
A CELEBRATED TV NEWS ANCHOR AND LAWYER, REUBEN ABATI, IS IGNORANT OF CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST LAW:
As I have stated, my focus in the alleged Nyesom Wike’s land allocations is the subject of “Conflict of Interest” law that he has violated, if indeed he is guilty of the allegation. And my interest was specially ignited by a very disappointing argument by a top and highly celebrated and respected news anchor of Arise News TV station, Reuben Abati, who is also a lawyer. And his Arise News TV station is one of the most popular TV stations, if not the most popular TV station in Nigeria today. I was taken aback when I heard Abati myself saying that, and I quote, “Wike has the right to allocate any land to his family members because they are Nigerians, too, with the same right as other Nigerians.” According to the Conflict-Of-Interest law, this is a total lie by Abati. Obviously, he is not aware of the CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST law that prohibits any government official to use his or her position to favor his or her family and friends unduly.

My commentaries include the one I did during the terrible rule of former president of Nigeria, now the late Muhammadu Buhari, when he flagrantly violated the law in 2020. NOW BACK TO THE REST OF NYESOM WIKE STORY:
So, folks, the point of the present commentary is that Minister Nyesom Wike is alleged to be violating the CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST law of Nigeria with utmost IMPUNITY because he is above the law in President Tinubu’s destructive government. And to me, MORE GRIEVOUS IS THE FACT THAT A MAN WHO I RESPECT AS A TOP TV ANCHOR, plus the fact that he is also a lawyer, agrees with Wike’s alleged lawlessness. Nigeria is a signatory to the global convention on “CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST” law, so it is disappointing that we have a lawyer who doesn’t seem to know about such law, meeeeeeeen!!! If you follow the link I have provided above to my past commentary, you will read, among other provisions, that the law prohibits any government official (up to the level of the president of the country) from the nepotism or favoritism of unduly benefitting his or her family and friends through the power of his or her office. It is evil enough that all the rulers of Nigeria violate this law every doggone day in many ways because Nigeria is a lawless country. What I am very ashamed of is that a lawyer in the caliber of Reuben Abati is unaware of this law, to the point that he disgracefully endorses its violation meeeeeeeen!!!
MY SUCCOR FROM RUFAI OSENI AKA “RUFFY ON FIRE”:
My relief as the Arise News team addressed the Wike matter this morning (July 25, 2025) came from my man, Rufai Oseni, aka “Ruffy On Fire.” Ruffy is not even a lawyer, but he tried to inform Reuben Abati (a lawyer) about the CONFLICT-OF-INTEREST law being violated by Wike, if indeed he has done what he is accused of doing. But Abati, a lawyer, insisted that Wike did nothing wrong. That’s disheartening to me, meeeeeeeen!!!
CONCLUSION: IGNORANT AND HYPOCRITICAL ENCOURAGEMENT OF NIGERIAN EVIL RULERS BY TOO MANY NIGERIANS IS A MAJOR REASON NIGERIA IS TERRIBLE:
Abati was either very ignorant of the law, or he simply was hypocritical in supporting Nyesom Wike’s lawlessness. Either way, I hereby challenge Reuben Abati to confront me on any platform of his choice on this matter!!! This is where I stop for now.
