THE LAWMAKERS ARE AWARE THAT THEY WILL ALL BE VOTED OUT OF POWER BY NIGERIANS WHO HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THEIR ATROCIOUS CORRUPTION
The five pictures below with news captions were breaking news of various days over the past couple of weeks, or thereabouts. The last four speak to the delay games that Nigeria’s federal lawmakers were playing in passing the nation’s Electoral Act ammendment bill. The first one speaks to the fact that the senate finally passed the ammendment bill yesterday, February 4, 2026. Sadly, the senate rejected what many critics consider to be the most important proposal for live electronic transmission of votes during elections. If passed, the proposed ammendment would have drastically checkmated election rigging in Nigeria.
Without mincing words, critics interpret the senate’s rejection of electronic transmission proposal as a clear self-serving sabotage of democracy, period!!! It is said that the senators, led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, did everything to ensure that they can continue to rig elections in Nigeria. It is argued that they are aware that Nigerians would never vote for their corrupt crop of lawmakers if ever elections are conducted in a free and fair manner.
There is another argument among Nigerian critics. It says that Senate President Godswill Akpabio was PROBABLY working on instructions from President Bola Tinubu to reject the electronic transmission proposal. Why, I asked. And I was told that President Tinubu would not win reelection in 2027 with that provision because he would not be able to perform his 2023 self-confessed act. And what act was that, I asked again, feigning ignorance. “He wouldn’t be able to ‘Grab it, snatch it, and run with it,’ as he confessed in 2023,” I was reminded.
