A CHAT WITH META AI ON RELIGIONS IN AFRICA, FEATURING PAGANISM AND CHRISTIANITY

February 27, 2026

Greetings!
The world today has over 8.5 billion people. About 85% of this population, roughly 6.8 billion people, identify with one form of religion or another. The major religions include Christianity with about 31% to 32% of the world populatuon; Islam with 24% to 25%; Hinduism has about 13% to14%; and Buddhism has about 7% of the population. “Traditional” or “Indigenous” religions account for about 4% to 6%. This includes “African Traditional Religions (ATRs)”

The remaining 15% of the world population fall into the categories of “Unaffiliated folks,” including atheists, agnostics, and people who identify as “nothing in particular.” Some of tthem are known as the secular, spiritual-but-not-religious. Some are just not bothered to think about all of that.

The following video commentary is, as the above title suggests, about misconceptions among some Christian faithful, which make them to condemn or even demonize other religions of the world. Our particular interest is the demonization of the African Traditional Religions (ATRs) by some Christians in Africa.

The following video is a chat with Meta AI, addressing one misconception of some African Christians in Africa. It is due to wrong definition of words or terms, which results in ignorant demonizatuon of the African culture in general, and the ATRs in particular. Here you go:
