The CEO Episode Three

One of the reasons why Ebere agreed to allow the CEO eat from her honey pot was due to his riches. The CEO was a very rich man with a lot of money to throw around. Since she started working for him, he has been on her neck, insisting he wants to take just one bite of her sweet apple, but she had refused. But the pressure subtly increased. At some points, he threatened to sack her. But even at that, Ebere did not give in to his demands.

There was a period Ebere and her husband were facing financial challenges and their landlord was on their neck to pay up their rent. They were going to be thrown out by the landlord. With a few hours left before they would become homeless, Ebere approached the CEO for financial help. He asked for her account number and sent her N1 million. She went home and settled the rent, but she did not let her husband know how she got the money. It was that day that she changed her mind. When she came to work the next day, she allowed the CEO to eat her apple right there in the office.

She was thinking it was just going to be a one-time token of appreciation for what the CEO did, but after the man tasted the apple, he kept on coming for more. Ebere could no longer say no to him since he was raining money on her. She was also enjoying it because she realized the CEO’s cucumber was better than that of her husband. That was how Ebere got pregnant once for the CEO and pinned the pregnancy on her husband.

“Now that we have kidnapped my son, what should we do?” Ebere asked the CEO when he came to the office that morning. He was sitting on his executive chair and swinging it from one side to the other.

“Nothing! All we have to do is to relax and allow him run helter skelter looking for the child. The blame is now on him. You should play the blame game. When you get home, tell him it was his fault that the child was kidnapped. Tell him if he didn’t insist on taking the child to the hospital, he would not have been kidnapped. Also, you could use the situation to make money for yourself. You can tell your husband that the kidnappers called you and demanded for N10 million. Be rest assured that he would raise the money.” The CEO said. He was manipulating Ebere like a puppeteer and he was aware her emotions were firmly under his control. Ever since he used money to capture her heart, she has been under his control and he could push her around to do anything he wants.

“What if he doesn’t have such amount of money? His salary for one year will not even cover that. Where is he going to see N10 million to give to the kidnappers?” Ebere asked, showing some level of concern for her husband.

“The life of his son is involved here and he will do anything to raise the money. My love, just trust me. Do as I say and you will make a lot of money for yourself. You will not even have to give any money to the kidnappers. You will just keep the N10 million for yourself.” The CEO continued until Ebere agreed to the idea. It was a temptation set for her and she fell for it.

“Can I eat your apple before you leave?” The CEO asked. There was hardly a day they don’t eat apple in the office. What started like a one-off thing became a daily occurrence which made them to fall in love even though Ebere was married. Even though she sometimes feels guilty about her extra-marital affairs, she has come to love the CEO and gradually resent her husband. She is now more drawn to the CEO who showers her with money and other expensive gifts.

“Of course my love,” Ebere said as she quickly gave in to the CEO’s demands. Ebere left the office afterwards and went home to meet her husband.

When Ebere got home, she saw Ugo sitting in the living room and weeping profusely. He was greatly troubled and he felt he was to blame for what happened to Junior. Ebere noticed this and decided to exploit his vulnerability.

“You were the one who said you wanted a DNA test for the child. Now, you have carried our son and given him to kidnappers. If you had left the child alone, he would still be here with us instead of being in the kidnappers’ den. Have I ever given you any reason to distrust me since I got married to you? Have I ever cheated on you? Have you ever caught me with another man? You suddenly started suspecting me after visiting my workplace. Now, the child has been kidnapped because of your irrational behavior of trying to get a DNA test. This is all your fault. Please, go and pay them for them to release my son for me,” Ebere said. Her words stung Ugo like the tail of a scorpion.

“I’m so sorry my love. I didn’t know this would happen. I was just curious, trying to find out why the child looked like your boss. I never knew this would happen.” Ugo said tearfully. As he wept, Ebere watched her with a sense of satisfaction, knowing that the game she was playing with the CEO was working.

“If I had told you not to go to the hospital, you would have refused. Now, see the trouble you have put us into. Anyway, the kidnappers have called me. They are demanding N10 million before they will release Junior. You have to look for the money because they have given us only 24 hours,” Ebere said.

“They called you? Thanks to God! At least, we now have their contact. Please, is my son still alive? Is he okay?” Ugo asked with tears in his eyes.

“But how am I going to raise such amount of money?” Ugo asked.

“You will look for it o! Because this is all your fault. It was you who practically delivered Junior to the kidnappers. A child who should be in school but you woke up and suddenly decided it was DNA test you want to do. You have to look for the money,” Ebere shouted. She too started crying. She didn’t want it to appear as if she was being heartless. She had to drop some tears so that her husband would feel they in the ugly situation together, but she was only pretending.

That same day, Ugo ran around and sold his car. He also sold his only parcel of land to raise the N10 million. He was hoping to build his own house on the parcel of land but he reasoned that his son’s life was more important than a house.

“I have the money. Where are the kidnappers? Can you go and give it to them? I want my son to be out of the kidnapper’s den today,” Ugo tells his wife. He was holding a bag of money in his hand. He had gone to the bank to get cash of exactly N10 million and loaded it in a sack.

“They have texted me the location to meet with them. Just hand the bag over to me. Or do you want to go?” Ebere asked. She knew her husband would refuse to go.

“No way! I’m scared. I don’t want to see those people again. Please take the money and go,” her husband said.

Ebere collected the bag. She ordered an Ubber ride and went to the CEO’s house.

“What you said is true. He brought the money.” Ebere said excitedly when she entered the CEO’s bedroom.

“Come and hug me my love. I told you he will look for the money. Now, it’s time to implement our next plan against him,” the CEO said.
