Nigeria in West Africa is the origin of the World Cruiserweight Boxing Champion, Bash Ali, who also holds the highest national honor ever awarded to any Nigerian sports professional in Nigeria. At his current age of 69, he remains the holder of this title ’til date.

Bash Ali left the United States of America after his last bout that clenched him the title in the year 2000, to start his quest for GWR in Nigeria as the oldest boxer ever to enter the ring to fight. He insisted that it must happen in his home country, Nigeria. Now, at age 69 in 2025, he is still struggling to fulfill this quest, and it has continued to be frustrated by evil politicians in the corridors of power. Why? Because, being the stubborn anti-corruption fighter that he is, he consistently refuses to kowtow to their evil corrupt demands.
