(2) MR. NO BULLSHITTING’S “OBJECTIVITY-CUM-SINCERITY” MOTTO AND ZERO ETHNO-RELIGIOUS FAVORITISM
Greetings!
I am Harry Agina, and as you may or may not know, “Mr. No Bullshitting” is my journalistic alter-ego, the radical Socio-Political Critic of Africa. This commentary was inspired by my anger about the evil madness that is currently happening in the politics of Nigeria, the so-called giant of Africa, located in West Africa. I speak of the one-political-party system that is slowly evolving in Nigeria as so many self-serving rulers of Nigeria are decamping from various political parties into President Tinubu’s ruling APC party. What makes it so sad is that the mass exodus has nothing to do with the good of Nigeria. It’s all about the evil selfish gains of the politicians. Some are joining APC to position themselves to rig the 2027 elections with the rigging machinery and federal might of President Tinubu’s ruling APC. In addition, some of those selfish politicians are joining APC to escape trial and imprisonment for their alleged looting of billions of naira from public funds.
One example of decamped politicians is one Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who was recently indicted by the EFCC for trillions of naira alleged looting of public funds. There is a standing APC policy that any politician who leaves his or her opposition political party and joins APC, his or her “sins are automatically forgiven.” This was openly announced on TV a couple of years back by the then APC National Chairman, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, and with utmost impunity, meeeeeeeeeen!!!
Again, I blame my former political hero, Atiku Abubakar, for all the exodus from the major opposition party of Nigeria, the “People’s Democratic Party (PDP).” Atiku’s ‘sin’ and my disappointment with him is the crux of this commentary. His ethno-religious bigoted tendencies started the destruction of the PDP in 2023. That has given the self-serving members of the PDP the WEAK excuse to jump into Tinubu’s APC. Rather than work hard to rebuild PDP, the zero-ideological and zero-integrity politicians now claim that PDP is no longer viable for their selfish goals because of instability. But I have already stated above, the real selfish and in some cases criminal reasons for the exodus to the ruling APC.
Now, let’s get back to my anger with Atiku’s ethno-religious bigotry. I am Harry Agina from the Igbo tribe of Nigeria; but my alter-ego, “Mr. No Bullshitting” has no tribe or even a country. I am a Practicing Christian; but “Mr. No Bullshitting” does not have any religion. I have said all that to make the point that “No Bullshitting” commentaries are devoid of ethno-religious sentiments or favoritism. In fact, “Mr. No Bullshitting” lambastes a bad person from Harry Agina’s Igbo tribe, harder than ‘he’ lambastes a bad Yoruba or bad Housa-Fulani person. No wonder, No Bullshitting motto is “Objectivity-Cum-Sincerity.” And, no wonder, Mr. No Bullshitting and I, Harry Agina, are so disappointed with my former hero, Atiku Abubakar, for his demonstrated ethno-religious bigotry in PDP in 2023, which has destroyed the PDP and turned me against him.
Atiku Abubakar is a Hausa-Fulani man, or whatever else he is, from northern Nigeria. The point here is that he is not from my Igbo tribe. But, below is one of four campaign videos that I contributed to his campaign as the PDP presidential candidate in 2019.
I title this commentary, Part One, because I have three more coming your way in the next few days to give you the rest of my campaign contributions to Atiku when I thought that he was my kind of guy. Mind you, not even a dime did I receive from Atiku’s campaign organization for my 2019 contributions, and I never asked for a dime either. In one of my impending commentaries, I will address the suggestion by my big sister, Ada Agina-Ude, that Peter Obi must not accept to be Atiku’s presidential running mate in 2027. In fact, I believe that Atiku should stop fighting to become president because, contrary to his facade, he is very tribalistic.
