MISGUIDED DEFINITION OF PATRIOTISM BY SOME NIGERIANS IN NIGERIA

August 10, 2025

(1) THE CAMPAIGN CONTINUES AGAINST ABERRATION OF THE DEFINITIONS OF SOME CONCEPTS IN AFRICA, WHICH RETARD PROGRESS

(2) NIGERIANS WHO CONDEMN THE POOR RULERSHIP OF NIGERIA ARE SAID TO BE UNPATRIOTIC

(3) MIND YOU, ALL REGIONS OF THE WORLD DO HAVE THEIR OWN DRAWBACKS, TOO, BUT MY CONCERN IS MY AFRICA

Greetings!
This is Harry Agina and I come your way again with my campaign against some factors that contribute to the retardation of the African continent. As my third subtitle says, other regions of the world do have their own peculiar issues, too.

Now, my debate with my Facebook friend, Cletus George continues. This debate has progressed from his first constructive comment in disagreement with some of my points in Part 1 of this series. It could go on nicely for the long haul because I love constructive debates, IF ONLY WE COULD BOTH MAINTAIN THE PRINCIPLE OF CIVILITY that makes a good debate, no insults.

Anyway, I will be speaking directly to Cletus from here on. So, here we go. Cletus, I wanno start with the correction of your statement that America is 500 years old. No, sir!!! America turned 249 years old on the 4th of July 2025. The land became America with her independence from Britain on July 4, 1776. But, even if America was one thousand years and Nigeria is only sixty-and-odd years, your argument is similar to what a Nigerian senator once said, and I had the pleasure to call him to order. The senator said that Nigeria should not be expected to be more than what she is now because we have just passed the age of sixty years from independence. He insisted that we should not be compared to America that is over two hundred years old. I looked him in the eye and told him how wrong he was.

My basic argument is that there is no need for the rulers of Nigeria to re-invent the wheel. America and other more developed snf democratic nations have already set the wheel or the TEMPLATES of democracy and development in motion. All that the developing countries need to do is copy the templates and even aim to outdo America. They do not require America’s 249 years to do it. Ordinary secondary school students of politics can easily do that, meeeeeeeen!!!

Indeed, Nigeria is using the American template of democracy, but our rulers are too evil and too corrupt to do the right thing with the template they have. They satanically corrupt the template to their evil ends. Take the Nigerian matter of insecurity, for instance. ANY SENSISIBLE PERSON KNOWS THAT THE AMERICAN TEMPLATE OF POLICING IS MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE THAN THE STUPID CENTRALIZED NIGERIA POLICE SYSTEM. But, the people in power refuse to apply the American template of state and local government police system because their stupid centralized Nigeria Police favor their evil self-serving plots. Meanwhile, they surround themselves and families with the small number of the centralized police that we have, while the rest of Nigerians are being slaughtered by armed robbers and terrorists. The senator who I had my conversation with didn’t like what I said to him, but I didn’t and still don’t give a damn, meeeeeeeen!!!

Next, bros, I have never argued, and I will never argue that America is perfect. In fact, I have always pointed out the fact that there are so many wrong things going on in America, JUST LIKE IN EVERY COUNTRY OF THE WORLD!!! I will even help your argument by adding one of the things that I hate about America, which you did not mention in your comment: I HATE WITH A PASSION SOME ACTIVITIES OF OUR CIA AROUND THE WORLD. A majority of regular Americans do not support such acts by the people in power. They do not support everything that the American leaders do. That’s what OBJECTIVITY is all about, bro. And I advise that you copy such principle of objectivity and sincerity in conversations about Nigeria.

My point about OBJECTIVITY is that, as I have said a gazillion times before, I DO AGREE WITH YOU THAT AMERICA IS NOT PERFECT. But, bros, I do insist that we must maintain decorum in order to have a constructive, friendly, lovely, effective and beneficial conversation. But, unfortunately, you veered away from this principle in your last comment. It is very interesting that you claim that America is categorically worse than Nigeria. To me, your claim smacks of lack of OBJECTIVITY. In that comment you also UNNECESSARILY said that my views are “TERRIBLE.” That’s why I accuse you of veering away from the principle of civility. I hereby reciprocate your rudeness by saying that your lack of objectivity and sincerity to say that Nigeria is better than America is HORRIBLE. A child in Nigeria knows that your view is very insincere. However, you do have the right to your view, meeeeeeeen!!!

Anyway, as I always point out, the key word in comparing Nigeria with America is IMPUNITY, IMPUNITY, IMPUNITY in amo g Nigerian rulers!!!!!!!!! Any Nigerian who has any atom of objectivity and sincerity knows this fact. You can state a gazillion errors in America, as you stated in your last comment, but none of them, repeat, NONE OF THEM can equal the ATROCITIES COMMITED by your Nigerian rulers WITH IMPUNITY in Nigeria every doggone day, bro! Impunity means committing crimes without fear of repercussions or bad consequences because they know that Nigerians don’t revolt to hold them accountable for their atrocities. That kind of evil impunity can never, repeat, CAN NEVER HAPPEN IN AMERICA because Americans would never allow it, meeeeeeeen!!!

Bros, contrary to what you obviously believe, YOUR CONSISTENCE DEFFENCE of Nigerian crooks in power and your pretense that Nigeria is great does not in any way amount to being PATRIOTIC at all. It is among those things that I condemn about MISGUIDED DEFINITION OF SOCIAL CONCEPTS. What you are doing is a gazillion times the opposite of patriotism. You are encouraging the crooks who are destroying Nigeria to continue in their atrocious ways, bro!!! That’s the worst kind of UNPATRIOTIC ACTS because you are not helping your country to grow.

Americans openly condemn the leaders who are doing wrong, holding them accountable. That’s one of the reasons why America is much better than Nigeria. Of course, Nigerians like me and Deji Adeyunju, VeryDarkMan, Ordinary Muhammed, and Sowole (to name the few) who condemn evil Nigerian RULERSHIP, just like American people condemn bad American LEADERSHIP, are the MOST PATRIOTIC NIGERIANS. The problem is that there are just VERY, VERY, VERY FEW OF SUCH PEOPLE WHO FIGHT FOR A BETTER NIGERIA, meeeeeeeen!!!!!!

The point is that bad Nigerian rulers are encouraged by too many Nigerians who should be condemning them so that they can change their evil ways. This is the reason why they commit atrocities with IMPUNITY because they know that Nigerians do not revolt against their misrule. We have people like Nyesom Wike who get on global TV and boast to the world that he makes Rivers State ungovernable. He creates conflicts THAT GET SCORES OF RIVERS PEOPLE KILLED IN BROAD DAYLIGHT, and nothing happens to him. Instead, he continues to boast about more atrocities that he will continue to commit if he doesn’t get his way to control the state governor and rob the treasory of Rivers State dry. And that’s what you compare with American society. Furthermore, Wike got on global TV and BOASTED, WITH IMPUNITY, that he would make all the PDP states “UNGOVERNABLE” where the governors disagreed with his evil control of Rivers State. And rather than arrest Wike for TREASON, your president Tinubu, the man who openly boasted in 2023 that he would “GRAB THE VOTES OF NIGERIANS AND RUN WITH IT TO BECOME PRESIDENT,” supports Wike to “GRAB” Rivers State. Tinubu violatied Nigeria’s constitution for Wike by dethroning a sitting governor who was ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE OF RIVERS STATE. You and I know that it is A HUGE CRIME AGAINST OUR CONSTITUTION. But Tinubu and Wike got away with those atrocities because this is Nigeria where all manner of shit happens, with flocks of flies hovering over the shit.

In contrast, AMERICAN LEADERS WHO COMMIT CRIMES DO NOT, REPEAT, DO NOT GET AWAY WITH THEIR CRIMINALITY when they are exposed. You don’t talk about that. Imstead, you wanno look me in the eye and tell me that you prefer the criminal madness in Nigerian to the American saner clime. You choose and GLORIFY the criminal Nigerian clime over the saner American clime. TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE, meeeeeeeen!!!

You know, I think it’s time for me to quit this debate because it’s no longer making any sense to me. I want the kind of debate where you and I will admit FACTS WITH OBJECTIVITY, not where you insist that you must promote the madness in Nigeria in the “TERRIBLY” MISGUIDED name of PATRIOTISM. As I said, true patriotism is when someone condemns what is wrong in one’s country so that there will be change for the better. Not when one is disagreeing with facts to support the people who are destroying one’s own country, meeeeeeeeeen!!!

Bros, I remember that the first bad argument I had with you was because I condemned your Senate President, Godswill Akpabio who is HIGHLY INDICTED FOR ALLEGED EVIL CRIMES. You attacked me with insults, and, of course, I lost my cool and confronted you in my no bullshiting style. Mind you, you never disputed every fact that I said about Akpabio’s alleged criminality because you know that there are documented proofs. Yet, you faught me to defend his so-called honor simply because he is your senate president, which virtually translated to your belief that a senate president has the right to be above the law. But, subsequently, you SEEMINGLY agreed that it is wrong to be unnecessarily cantankerous with me in a conversation. You temporarily changed your style and became more civil. Being a sucker for reconciliation as I am, I happily accepted you as a friend. I encouraged civil debates between us, appreciating your civility in my comments. But in your last comment, you seemed to have gone back to your initial mode by saying that my opinion is “terrible.” Bros, as the communications professional that I am, I must remind you again that, in A CORDIAL CONVERSATION, there is a huge difference between saying that someone’s opinion or view is terrible, and simply saying that YOU DISAGREE WITH SUCH VIEW. You should check out how cordial my debates with people like Waruka Soky is. It is a fact that any intelligent person applying the right diplomatic SYNTAX can actually condemn or disagree with someone without necessarily using harsh abusive words. Obviously, harsh words like yours trigger off unnecessary rancor, bro!!!!!!!

Hence, having countered some of the points you made in your last comment, I think we should cut off this debate. I know my temperament and the fact that I refuse to accept insults in a conversation. I tend to make sure that I give the insult right back to the person DOUBLE, or even MORE THAN DOUBLE, meeeeeeeen!!! I am a WORD-ARTIST and I don’t back down once I start. So, with all due respect, it is better that we stop now as friends before it degenerates again to the war of words as enemies, which you initiated when I criticized Akpabio.

I will conclude by advising you again to get MORE OBJECTIVE AND SINCERE IN YOUR SO-CALLED “PATRIOTISM” IN YOUR COMPARISON OF NIGERIA AND AMERICA, AND IN YOUR DEFFENCE OF THE TERRIBLE RULERSHIP THAT IS DESTROYING YOUR COUNTRY. Like I said earlier, since you used the word “terrible” against me in your last comment, I am justified to say all the things that I have said about your views in the CONFRONTATIONAL ways that I put them in this commentary. I STRONGLY BELIEVE IN TEET-FOR-TAT, bro!!! I conclude by saying, still in your insultive mode, that YOUR NON-OBJECTIVE AND INSINCERE COMPARISON BETWEEN AMERICA AND NIGERIA IS VERY, VERY, VERY RIDICULOUS, bro! You don’t compare a cow to an elephant and make yourself to believe that you’re being patriotic to the cow. It seems to me that you are too intellectual to fall for such cheap and destructive “patriotism” if that’s what you call it. Facts are facts, bro, and you make yourself look unintelligent when you are claiming that Nigeria is greater than America. The only smart or intelligent thing to say is that NIGERIA COULD HAVE BEEN, OR COULD GET GREATER THAN AMERICA, IF ONLY YOUR EVIL CORRUPT INCOMPETENT RULERS WOULD DO THE RIGHT THING TO EXPLORE AND EXPLOIT OUR POTENTIAL. Or better still, IF ONLY NIGERIANS WOULD WAKE UP FROM OUR ANNOYING DOCILITY AND REVOLT IN A STRONG DEMOCRATIC FIGHT TO REPLACE THE EVIL INCOMPETENT AND EVIL RULLERS WITH GREAT LEADERS AMONG OUR ABUNDANT INTELLIGENT PEOPLE OF INTEGRITY, meeeeeeeen!!!
