(1) The Objectivity-Cum-Sincerity Motto of Mr. No Bullshitting in action
(2) DSS DG, Oluwatosin Ajayi has done great in reforming a hitherto terrible undemocratic practice of the DSS, meeeeeeeen!!!
Greetings!
I am Harry Agina, presently very happy to state that the Director General (DG) of Nigeria Department of State Services (DSS), Oluwatosin Ajayi, has just earned my love, meeeeeeeen!!!
Yes sir, yes ma’am! I love a current move by Ajayi in an apparent democratic reform in the operations of the agency. Yes, indeed, it behooves me to appreciate and hail him, in line with the “Objectivity-Cum-Sincerity” motto of my professional journalistic alter-ego, Mr. No Bullshitting. I speak of Ajayi’s move to sue Omoyele Sowore in court for calling President Bola Tinubu a criminal.
The DSS has a history of autocratic, unlawful arrest and detention of Nigerians who exercise their constitutional freedom of speech right. Of course, freedom of speech is not absolute. For instance, where one person’s freedom of speech right stops, another person’s right against defamation of character starts. In the case of Sowore versus President Tinubu, some critics, including I, maintain that Sowore went too far to call Tinubu a criminal on a matter that does not amount to a criminal act. Yes, Tinubu did tell a clear lie, but it wss not a crime. In recent past, the DSS would simply grab Sowore and slam him into jail, indedinitely, in total violation of his democratic righ to a fair hearing in a court of law.
Now, as shown in the newspaper headline above, the current DG has just demonstrated a democratic reform in its operations. It has sued Omoyele Sowore in court, instead of the hitherto prevailing unlawful arrest and detention of Nigerians. For this democratic reform, I hail DG Oluwatosin Ajayi to high haevens, meeeeeeeen!!!
In recent past days, I condemned the DSS for abdicating its duty to penalize or caution two presidential aids, Bayo Ononuga and Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who have been spewing evil hate-speeches against the people of the Igbo tribe of Nigeria. I still maintain my position that the DSS DG Ajayi owes Nigerians the duty to call those two evil bigots to order as required by our “hate-speech” law. Meanwhile, I happily and proudly hail DG Ajayi for another job well done, meeeeeeeen!!!
