(1) President Tinubu’s Dictatorial Matter Arrising:
Nigeria’s National Assembly (parliament) confirms that President Tinubu’s office (either his cabinet or himself) COMMITTED A CRIME to “Doctor” the original copy of the new tax bill that he recently passed into law. In other words, the parliament passed the bill, the office of President Tinubu CRIMINALLY changed some provisions on the bill before the president signed it into a law. Yet, President Tinubu refused to follow the due process to, (1) Find out who committed the crime of tampering with the bill and punish the criminal; (2) Correct the crime and return the bill to the parliament for re-passing it into law as demanded by the constitution. Instead, he DICTATORIALLY bypasses the constitutional mandate of the parliament to ammend the criminal act, and orders that the law must take effect in its criminalized form. Note that Tinubu’s act is an IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE.
(2) The Most Crucial Matter Arrising:
Nigeria’s National Assembly is a “rubber-stamp” of President Tinubu, and not representing the people of Nigeria as our constitution demands. The lawmakers have not challenged President Tinubu’s Dictatorial pronouncement that the criminalized tax law MUST commence January 1, 2025. If the lawmakers were truly representing the people as CHECKMATE mechanism against presidential excesses, they would IMMEDIATELY WARN Tinubu that he would be impeached if he dares their constitutional power, and goes ahead to enforce the law in its criminalized form. In failing to challenge and warn Tinubu, those parliamentarians have continued to maintain and affirm their posture as his rubber-stamp. They have once again affirmed that they’re a total failure as the peoples’ representatives, total sellout, period!
