This commentary is about another one of the lies and deceit that Nigerian President Bola Tinubu’s government is known for. My general prelude is that every Nigerian feels today the falsehood in President Tinubu’s 2023 election campaign promise of “Renewed Hope” for Nigeria. What we see now two-and-odd years into his reign is ‘Renewed Hopelessness.” The claims that Tinubu is doing well regularly published by his propagandists are nothing but packs of lies. They are mere nonsensical facades on paper, which are not in tandem with the realities of the clear suffering of Nigerians.
TODAY’S TOPIC: I refer to the newspaper headline below. The chairman of Nigeria’s Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said a couple of days back that he will counter the open declaration by Senator Adams Oshiomhole in 2022. Oshiomhole said that the ruling APC political party is a den of criminals where the “sins of criminals are forgiven.” Now, the EFCC chairman has said that he will not favor politicians who defect to Tinubu’s ruling political party in his so-called war against corruption and stealing of public funds. Tell that to the marines who are far out on the sea and not aware of what is going on in Nigeria, I respond in utter disgust. Mr. Chairman is already favoring APC indicted politicians who are in high positions. You will see my factual examples before the end of this treatise, meeeeeeeen!!!
Meanwhile, over 90 percent of Nigerian politicians who are now jumping from their political parties to President Tinubu’s ruling party do so to escape being prosecuted and imprisoned for their crimes. Most of them are thieves of public funds. The remaining percentage do so to benefit from President Tinubu’s self-confessed “snatching and grabbing” of people’s votes in Nigeria’s impending 2027 elections. Both my allegations here are known to be FACTS by all Nigerians of age. And if you’re not Nigerian and didn’t know, then Google them for fact-check. Tinubu did confess on TV in 2023 that he is master of “grabbing and snatching of electoral votes.” And Senator Adams Oshiomhole did declare also on TV in 2022 or thereabouts, that “Anybody who leaves his/her party to join the ruling APC party, their sins are forgiven.” We have several examples of beneficiaries of the lawlessness. They include Senator Oshiomhole himself, and Godswill Akpabio whose cases of known indictments were swept under the carpet. Akpabio was further rewarded with the currant seat of Senate President, meeeeeeeen!!!
Anyway, back to the newspaper headline below, the last time I discussed a similar matter, Ben-chuks Rootsie described President Tinubu’s hypocritical statement in metaphorical Igbo language as “Akuko mbe.” “Mbe” is tortoise, and “Akuko” means story. That’s to say that Tinubu’s story (or words) are similar to a story by a tortoise. And I translated and trancribed all that Igbo language metaphor to mean that any political word out of President Tinubu’s mouth is nothing but falsehood and deceit. You may recall my explanation that an Igbo folklore says that “Mr. Tortoise” is a cunning and deceitful animal.
That’s exactly what I believe the chairman of EFCC is doing in his recent declaration that he won’t spare ceiminal politicians just because they are defecting to the ruling APC party. To prove me wrong, I challenge him to start already by prosecuting Senators Akpabio, Oshiomhole, and so many other politicians whose KNOWN INDICTMENTS have been swept under the carpet as soon as they defected to APC, meeeeeeeen!!!
