BEAUTIFUL SONG AND STORY ABOUT XENOPHOBIA BY SOUTH AFRICANS AGAINST THEIR FELLOW AFRICANS

June 27, 2026

Greetings from Harry Agina and the Afro-Scope Project.

Xenophobia is my subject today. It is similar to racism and tribalism in many ways. In fact, I don’t really see much of a difference between xenophobia, tribalism, and racism. If you ask me, or even as you ain’t asking me yet, I still tell ya: They are all about one group of people disliking or hating, afraid of, segregating or discriminating against another group of people. They are also all about exclusion of other people, based on difference in culture, tribe, race, country, and other sectional differences, including religion.

They all come with one form of hatred or another… hatred or dislike anything foreign or anything strange. There may be some adjectives that slightly distinguish one of those nouns from another. For instance, my present noun in focus, xenophobia, can be distinguished from racism because members of a race can be xenophobic against members of the same race from other locations. Driving this point home, this commentary is about xenophobic actions by South African black people against black people from other countries in Africa.

Anyway, South African xenophobic attacks on the fellow Africans have been on for a while now but I had no inspiration to discuss it until now. I was inspired by the following beautiful reggae song with a nice lyrical story about South Africa’s xenophobia. Here is my little video story with the beautiful music for ya:
